This building located in downtown Hamilton, OH consists of an older five-story building and a modern addition.
Controls were added to this building to save energy costs and improve tenant comfort. The systems controlled include two hot water boilers, a centrifugal chiller,
all air handlers, a cooling tower and floor-by-floor lighting controls. The lighting is schedule and occupancy controlled. Many times in buildings such as this,
lighting is a significant factor. This is due to late-night cleaning crews and offices that are occupied after general hours. This system addresses both issues by splitting the building into ten (10) zones.
This allows occupants to use the building after hours by automatically turning lights off after people leave. Major energy savings are also accomplished by monitoring building electrical demand
and limiting it through load management.
